Bereits 1996 hatten sich Ch. Herfarth und G. Schiirmann in Der Cbirurg zu dieser Problematik geBuBert [l]. Dr. Eugen Garfield, Direktor des lnstitut of Scientific Information (ISI), Philadelphia, und der Chefredakteur der FacharztZeitschriften des Springer-Verlags diskutierten iiber Gebrauch und MiBbrauch des Impact Faktors.Seinen Standpunkt faBte E.
